  • 1 cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp ginger, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp green chilies, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato ketchup (see recipe below for homemade no onion, no garlic ketchup)
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Batter: In a bowl, mix cornstarch, flour, salt, and water to make a thick batter.
  2. Fry the Cauliflower: Dip cauliflower florets in the batter and deep fry until golden brown. Set aside.
  3. Sauté Aromatics: In a pan, heat oil and sauté ginger and green chilies until fragrant.
  4. Add Sauces: Add soy sauce, tomato ketchup, vinegar, sugar, and salt. Mix well.
  5. Combine: Add fried cauliflower florets to the sauce and toss until coated evenly.
  6. Garnish: Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.

Hare Krishna No Onion, No Garlic Ketchup Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 15-oz cans diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp hing (asafoetida)
  • 1/2 tsp ginger powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1-2 tsp yellow mustard
  • 1/4 tsp clove powder

Instructions

  1. Blend Ingredients: Blend all the ingredients until smooth.
  2. Cook the Mixture: Pour the blended mixture into a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until thickened (about 20-30 minutes).
  3. Cool and Store: Allow the ketchup to cool, then transfer to a clean jar or bottle and store in the refrigerator.
