Vegetable Fried Rice is a flavorful and satisfying Chinese-inspired dish prepared according to the principles of bhakti yoga. Fresh vegetables, aromatic basmati rice, and simple seasonings combine to create a wholesome meal suitable for offering to Krishna. Prepared with devotion and mindfulness, this dish nourishes both body and soul.
Cook basmati rice and allow it to cool completely. Day-old rice works best.
Heat ghee or sesame oil in a large wok or skillet.
Add ginger and sauté briefly until fragrant.
Add carrots, peas, bell peppers, and cabbage.
Cook for 5–7 minutes while maintaining some crunch.
Add the cooled rice and gently mix.
Pour in soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper.
Continue stirring until evenly coated and heated through.
Remove from heat.
Garnish with chopped cilantro.
Offer to Krishna and serve warm.
Rice Tip: Day-old rice produces the best texture and prevents clumping.
Vegetable Variation: Corn, green beans, and broccoli may be substituted.
Oil Choice: Sesame oil provides a more authentic Chinese-inspired flavor.
