For the Tikki:

  • 4 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1/2 cup boiled peas
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

For the Chaat:

  • 1 cup yogurt, whisked
  • 1/4 cup tamarind chutney
  • 1/4 cup mint chutney
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh coriander leaves
  • 2 tablespoons sev (crunchy chickpea noodles)
  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

Prepare Tikki:

  1. Mix Ingredients:
    • In a bowl, combine mashed potatoes, boiled peas, cumin seeds, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
    • Mix well and shape into small patties (tikkis).
  2. Fry Tikki:
    • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
    • Fry the tikkis until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
    • Remove and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Assembling Aloo Tikki Chaat:

  1. Arrange Tikkis:
    • Place the fried tikkis on a serving plate.
  2. Add Yogurt and Chutneys:
    • Spoon a generous amount of whisked yogurt over the tikkis.
    • Drizzle tamarind chutney and mint chutney over the yogurt.
  3. Garnish and Serve:
    • Garnish with chopped fresh coriander leaves and sev.
    • Serve immediately for the best taste and texture.
