Ingredients

Scale

For the Laddus:

  • 1 cup pitted dates, chopped (150g)
  • 1/2 cup mixed nuts (almonds, cashews, pistachios) (75g)
  • 2 tablespoons ghee (30 ml)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 2 tablespoons grated coconut (optional)

Instructions

  1. Blend the Dates and Nuts: In a food processor, pulse the chopped dates and mixed nuts until they form a coarse mixture.
  2. Roast the Mixture: In a pan, heat ghee over medium heat. Add the dates and nuts mixture and roast for 5-7 minutes, stirring constantly, until the mixture becomes slightly sticky and aromatic. Add cardamom powder and mix well.
  3. Shape the Laddus: Remove the pan from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly. Take small portions and shape them into round laddus using your hands. Roll the laddus in grated coconut, if desired.
  4. Serve at Room Temperature: Serve the dates laddus at room temperature with your favorite side dish.

Notes

  • Variation: Add a handful of raisins or dried apricots for additional sweetness and texture.
  • Storage: Store any leftover laddus in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
