For the Laddus:

  • 1 cup gram flour (besan) (120g)
  • 1/2 cup ghee or butter (120 ml)
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar (150g)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 2 tablespoons chopped nuts (cashews, almonds)

Instructions

  1. Roast the Gram Flour: In a heavy-bottomed pan, heat ghee over medium heat. Add the gram flour and roast, stirring constantly, until it turns golden brown and emits a nutty aroma. This process may take about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Cool and Sweeten: Remove the pan from heat and allow the roasted gram flour to cool slightly. Add powdered sugar, cardamom powder, and chopped nuts. Mix well until combined.
  3. Shape the Laddus: While the mixture is still warm, take small portions and shape them into round laddus using your hands. Place the laddus on a plate and allow them to cool completely.
  4. Serve at Room Temperature: Serve the besan laddus at room temperature with your favorite side dish.

Notes

  • Variation: Add raisins or dried fruits to the mixture for a different texture and flavor.
  • Storage: Store any leftover laddus in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
